With internet access instructions see below

Step 1: Pull the IRIS out of the box (if this is not already done)

Step 2:Take all the cords out of the box (if this is not already done)

Step3: This box comes with many different cords, the only one's that you will need are

The telephone cord (which is the clear ended cord with the shape of a square on the end), and ethernet cord (Which is the clear ended cord shaped like a rectangle)

The Power Cord (The cord with the "O" shape's attached to each other)

In order to have internet access with the telephone cord you need at a minimum of Dial up internet access which of whom you can get from any of the businesses listed below to name a few.

www.copper.net ($4.99 monthly subscription, more info on website)
http://free.aol.com/thenewaol/plan_choice.adp (Starting at $9.99 and up, see site for details)
www.basicISP.net ($6.95 Monthly subscription, More info on site)
www.netzero.com ($14.05 Monthly subscription, more info on site)
www.juno.com ($10.95 Monthly subscription, more info on site)

With the Dial up you will need an Internet service provider or (I S P) and a login account to access the internet thru your I S P. They will give you a login account (you can create one yourself if preferred with a password)

Instructions

With the ethernet setup is simple, simply plug the ethernet cord, (the rectangle shaped, clear ended cord into the modem for internet access. the telephone cord plugs into the wall for internet access and your I S P will give you a splitter for modem connection. If you are new to this please contact your I S P for instructions on internet access. The ethernet port on the IRIS is in the back of the unit in the middle section.

*Please note a regular telephone cord will NOT work as an ethernet cord (both are different, telephone cord is smaller and slower and, the ethernet is slightly larger and faster then dialup). So, Ethernet is slightly more complex then a regular telephone service. Dial up internet is with the regular telephone line and is slower and Ethernet is a faster connection speed, though more expensive.

• Dial up simply take the small telephone cord and plug the end with the clear side in to the household telephone jack on the wall (location will vary; the jack will look similar to the end of the cord for you to find if having trouble.) To plug cord into IRIS simply put the clear end into the port labeled "phone". * note there is not a word but its a phone symbol on the unit. Then once you are connected to the internet turn on and receiver should connect automatically

Then login to the internet with your Login ID and Password.

• Then plug the power cord into the port labeled "Power". This cord is the cord that has two side by side "O" shape's
attached to each other.

Once this is complete, simply turn on the unit ( the small red button on the front of the unit, wait for maybe 30 seconds to maybe a few minutes for it to update ( when the unit is brand new).

With Dial up internet, to get the IRIS to connect the IRIS must be programmed to connect thru dial up.

*note with Dial up internet Mainstream may NOT function properly, we are working on the solution with our supplier. So we recommend for our listener's to properly stream audio to have minimum ethernet speed. This will give adaquate speed for continuous  streaming of audio titles.

     1) Turn unit on, once unit is running (speaking) press + hold the OK button for 4 seconds until the menu appears on the screen

   2)  Navigate using the volume button. Select the NETWORK option press ok, from there select the Modem profile 1 option, or two if you have more then one connection.

    3)  From this option you will need your phone #, Username, password to connect via dial up. Then restart the system.

  4)   From here you will repeat step 1 then you will return to Network Options ,then in the Connection mode option, you will select the modem profile you just created. Then restart again and IRIS should connect.
